This house designed by Charles Cunniffe Architects, is located in the Rocky Mountains of Aspen Colorado. Studio2a was hired to provide 3d renderings to be used by the developer for pre-construction sales and marketing of this spec luxury residence. The nature of this complex scenic mountain site, steps from the ski slopes in Aspen, required that Studio2a show the relationship of the architecture to its natural forest surroundings. Using Studio2a’s proprietary 3d landscaping system we completely recreated the local Aspen habitat in 3d and fit it to the new topography illustrated by the landscape drawings. We don’t often get the chance to show seasonal changes, but in this case, marketing a luxury residence in Aspen wouldn’t be complete without showing the house in a full snow covered winter wonderland (complete with functioning ski lift in the background). "Developing a good 3d snow technique took some practice", says Mike Wisniewski of Studio2a, "working out these challenges is what really makes our 3d renderings special."
