Studio2a Breaks New Ground - Watercolor and animation merge to propel HOK Sport, a new industry standard is born
January 2002

Kansas City, MO - Studio2a, a cutting-edge computer animation and design firm, recently broke new ground on a project for world-renowned architectural leaders HOK Sport. Combining high-end computer graphics with the watercolor illustration of Mike Cherepak, Studio2a solidified its place on the forefront of creative innovation.

The challenge lied in creating a promotional piece that capitalized on the latest technology, while at the same time downplaying that technology by utilizing more traditional ways of showcasing design. The process involved the creation of hundreds of unique watercolor illustrations that were then integrated with the computer model to create the final animation. The overwhelming success of the project proves there is still a place for "classic" art disciplines in the constantly changing digital age.

Two year-old Studio2a specializes in creating unique, top-end computer graphics and animation. Recognizing the value of combining different medias such as animation and watercolor, Studio2a continues to push the boundaries of the industry, setting a new standard of client expectation. "We are always trying to keep things fresh. In this industry there is a constant struggle between those that want the more conventional watercolor image and those that want new high-tech computer graphics. This latest technique appeals to everyone, it is the best of both worlds." (Adam Kruvand, Studio2a)
